THE CHALLENGE
The Securities & Exchange Commission's (SEC) real estate portolio spans across the continental United States with its headquarters in Washington, D.C., and 11 regional offices in other major U.S. cities. The SEC required expert advice regarding space use/management, assistance operating a technical help desk, support planning, and executing on significant relocations of agency staff across its portfolio.
ALFONSO’S SOLUTION
Alfonso & Associates Consulting provided highly skilled professionals – relocation coordinators, help desk technicians, and interior designers to support the Facilities Branch in the development and implementation of facility management solutions. Leveraging the latest implementation of ARCHIBUS, the team implemented a modern help desk for facilities requirements, provided expert space planning advice, managed multiple staff relocation projects, and designed multiple office space initiatives to increase space utilization and reduce real estate footprint.
THE RESULT
Alfonso & Associates team members have evaluated requests for space assignments, analyzed personnel and equipment needs, recommended space assignments that maximize space utilization, and provided relocation plans that reduce the impacts from moving on SEC employees. The staff conducted regular reviews of all SEC space assignments to validate effective space utilization and have made recommendations to correct deficiencies in their utilization of space. The help desk has been instrumental in identifying emerging issues, effecting corrective action in a timely manner, and tracking historical performance to identify trends which have led to improvements in workflow management. The efforts of our staff have been held in high regard, resulting in positive performance evaluations and additional project opportunities.
