THE CHALLENGE

The SEC faced the significant challenges of managing a national real estate portfolio, implementing ongoing mandates from the White House to reduce its real estate footprint and house a growing mission within the space it already had. With multiple leases nationwide, the SEC needed support to implement a project management strategy to enable its Facilities Branch to plan, design, and implement space-saving initiatives in a thoughful and effective manner.

ALFONSO’S SOLUTION

Alfonso & Associates Consulting mobilized a team of highly experienced furniture experts – furniture specialists, interior designers, and project managers – to develop and implement the necessary solutions. Utilizing tools such as AutoCAD and scheduling software, the team has gathered requirements, developed office furniture designs, and managed multiple projects leading to a more streamlined and effective use of space throughout the SEC’s national real estate portfolio.

THE RESULT

Alfonso & Associates team members have successfully completed the planning, interior design, and delivery of tenant improvements for the Records Management division of the SEC. As part of this successful two-phased effort, the team developed the interior designs that included new furniture, prepared required specifications, and provided trusted advice during the construction of the new offices and workstations. The team also led efforts to deliver tenant improvements and alterations at two SEC facilities, Station Place One & Two. Working in tandem with the building manager and SEC staff, the team coordinated the efforts to design the interiors, select building and furniture finishes, assist in negotiating costs for services and furnishings, and manage the weekly implementation of the renovation over 52 weeks.
