THE CHALLENGE
The newly formed Defense Health Agency (DHA) required a trusted advisor to manage all aspects of facilities and maintenance activities within the DHA portfolio - both within and outside the National Capital Region (NCR). Support for government-leased and -owned facilities and property include, but are not limited to, spaces located at the Defense Health Headquarters (DHHQ); Arlington and Falls Church, VA; Chicago, IL; Silver Spring, MD; Crystal City, VA; Rosslyn, VA; Bethesda, MD; San Antonio, TX; San Diego, CA; and Aurora, CO.
ALFONSO’S SOLUTION
Alfonso & Associates Consulting provided a team consisting of subject matter experts, project managers, and field personnel to satisfy the requirements of the agency. Among the tasks the team performs: assist with managing the technical and analytical work pertaining to the planning, development, acquisition, testing, integration, installation, accountability, utilization, and/or modification of classifiedand unclassified facilities; receive, enter, and track facilities issues in the CAFM; and coordinate and supervise preventative maintenance programs for all above standard equipment. Further, our staff coordinate with WHS and GSA to provide support in the development of Reimbursable Project Worksheets and Work Authorizations to perform required tenant improvements and repairs to infrastructure.
THE RESULT
During our engagement to date, Alfonso & Associates Consulting hit the ground running by successfully transioning-in without any disruptions to service. Employing a high degree of skill and flexibility, our professional associates have managed and delivered a mulititude of tenant improvement and alteration projects on time and on budget. Additionally, staff continue to offer quality facilities support on a day-to-day basis, make recommendations to improve business processes, and asssist with internal relocations of agency staff.
